Earlier this year, my six-year-old daughter ventured to write a book with thirteen chapters—giving each unwritten chapter a really great title. She wrote two of the chapters, and then moved on to something else. I was spending the same time in our basement trying to remember how to screen print, but wasn’t happy with how the prints turned out. So I cut them into shapes, got out my gouache and pencils, and started a series of works using the abandoned chapter titles—as well as the abandoned prints—as a springboard for something completely different.
